About the Recipe

Nettles, native to the Pacific Northwest, are a powerhouse of essential minerals like magnesium, calcium, and iron. A simple infusion allows you to extract these nutrients efficiently, making it a wonderful addition to your daily routine. Whether served warm or chilled, this earthy, nourishing tea is a great way to support your well-being.

Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz dried nettles

  • 4 cups hot water


Optional:

  • Fresh lemon juice

  • Honey or maple syrup

Preparation

  1. Place the loose nettles at the bottom of a French press, mason jar or other glass/ceramic

    container. Pour the hot water over the herbs and let steep for at least 4 hours or preferably,

    overnight. Once it has cooled to room temperature, you can cover and place in the refrigerator.

  2. In the morning, strain off the nettles using a cheesecloth or sieve. Add the lemon juice and

    honey or maple syrup, if desired.

  3. Serve warmed in a mug or add to a glass with ice to enjoy cold. Keep refrigerated and drink over the next 3-4 days.
